DOGS DESERVE BETTER is a nonprofit organization dedicated to freeing the chained dog, and bringing our 'best friend' into the home and family.

For this special night we have brought in veteran DJ CHANG who has generously donated his time and talents to get all of you to come out and support this humane charity. Carlos el dj chang known to many in the seedy underground that was once on display in Florida back in the late 80's to late 90's, was the resident at the once famous afterhour club called Simons! It was here that he had the oppurtunity to open for such fabulous djs/artists like Laurent Garnier, Felix Da Housecat, Deep Dish, Doc Martin, Ralph Lawson, Farley & Heller, Dubtribe, Green Velvet, Richie Hawtin, John Aquaviva, Mark Farina, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Dj Pierre, Garth, King Britt, Josh Wink just to name a few..
Mr. Chang was also found at a many film fests like the Sundance Film Fest, where he played for the "Hedwig & The Angry Inch" party, and the "Human Traffic" party which featured djs King Britt, Richie Hawtin, and Bob Skies.
You also may remember him from his adventures in San Francisco where he had a tv show on public access called "House Nation." Here is where many music videos & interviews were featured from artists like Kaskade, Wicked Crew, Devotion, Julie Mcknight, David Harness, Hesohi.. Because of this Chang was also offered a position in promotions at Devotion, where he also opened for dj Ruben Mancias' Devotion Sundays at The End Up. It was here in the city of Love that Chang released his record "Island Dreams," with Amit Shoham (Tarantic Records) on Care Recordings.
As time would tell he ended up on the other side of the world, Bahrain to be exact! What started off as a gig ended up in a 4 year stay producing & playing events with long time party animal friend dj Mazen (Analogue Soul). It was in the Kingdom of Bahrain that Chang was able to experience the rich party culture to his amazement of the Middle East! Located central to the world, Chang found himself making guest dj appearances in Vienna; Slovakia; Beirut; Warsaw; to the famous Cocoon Club in Frankfurt, Germany. Now back in the USofA he can be found playing at several local residencies in Tampa & St Pete. Lookout for future music and video productions for 2008!
Currently you can hear him play every Fri. & 2 Sat. a month at Cheap (Tampa, Fl.), every other Wed at Crisco Disco (Tampa), and Thursdays at Banbu (St Petersburg, Fl.).
