Heading to Eumundi from Noosa:
Approximately 3 kms from Eumundi the 1st major landmark will be Tall Gum Ave on your right. You will then proceed down a hill (slow down now and turn your right indicator on) and at the bottom you will cross a tiny bridge clearly named the “Huon Mundy Bridge”. Immediately after the bridge some 10 metres will be a driveway on your right. This is the house driveway. Enter. Park and walk up the driveway.
Heading to Noosa from Eumundi:
The first major landmark will be Cash Rd on your left which is approximately 1.5 kms from Eumundi. Travel for approximately another 1.5 kms and you will see the Huon Mundy Bridge at the bottom of a hill. Do not cross over. The driveway is on the left some 10m before the bridge
CONCERT @ Home Series
Wow it seems only yesterday we were swimming in the amazing atmosphere of the 2nd Concert and here we are again getting ready for Concert 3. Well folks the 2nd was amazing so don’t miss out on the 3rd. Superb performances by Paul Fogarty, Matt Aitchinson, Ben McGregor, Alan Kelly, and Harii Bandhu, with Sean Trethaway once again delivering his magic, meant all who were present went away completely filled up.
The night was simply inspiring. Unfortunately Matt James, who was on the bill, could not attend due to ill health but Ben McGregor, Alan Kelly & Harii Bandhu stepped up to assist in making the night unforgettable. Special thanks must go to all the people who came to witness and participate thus helping to make this concept a reality. And folks we have got an exciting line-up for the upcoming 3rd concert.
We have decided that for the time being concerts will continue at “The House With No Walls”, in Eumundi. It seems to be the perfect House for it and we are very grateful to Hemi & Lynda for opening their home for such an event.
Background (Concept) Information
If you have not attended or read anything about The Concert @ Home Series please read the following otherwise jump straight to “The Artists” Section
The Concert @ Home Series is a night of diverse entertainment in an intimate environment, and June 19th, 2008, will give you another chance to experience some more of The Sunshine Coast’s many creative individuals open their hearts.
The main aim of this ‘Concert @ Home Series’ is to create an environment where expression is up close and personal. You the audience get to become one with universal inspiration. There will be many moments of giving, sharing and receiving so we are sure the series will provide many memorable evenings.
Once Again
The location is @:
“The House with No Walls”.
This is the residence of Hemi & Lynda.
1226 Eumundi Noosa Rd,
Eumundi
These nights are not parties or social gatherings. They are concerts and silent attention by you will contribute to the harmonious mood required for the artists to give of their all.
The main individuals involved in the co-ordination of this series are Harii Bandhu, Alan Kelly (From The Barleyshakes), and Hemi & Lynda.
The sound will be primarily acoustic, with minor amplification to allow for the dynamics of any soft passages of music. In other words you will be able to listen to music without it ever getting inappropriately loud. The amplification will never overcome the natural ambience of the environment and as long as, the audience, remain respectfully silent this will be achieved beautifully.
This venue requires warm clothing. There will be some seating available but we encourage all to bring cushions or beanbags as the seating available will generally be for those who are physically incapable of sitting on the floor.
1 Blue Note Donation is respectfully requested upon entry. The artists will also have their own merchandising available.
The Artists
Sëan Tretheway – Magician, Co MC

Sëan has been going on his journey and apparently has left but he keeps coming back for these concerts. Maybe it’s all part of the big magic trick. And we’re part of it. No this apparently is his last appearance on The Sunshine Coast for a while. Or is it? Sëan?!?! Are you there?
Sëan Tretheway has been entertaining Coast audiences for the past 25 years with his own special brand of comedy stand-up magic. If you’ve never experienced the thrill of seeing magic created right before your eyes by this skilful performer, this may be your last chance as Sëan is about to embark on an Australia-wide tour promoting his new book – The Roadless Traveller.

Paul Fogarty – Singer/Songwriter

Paul absolutely slayed us at the last concert. Now we know for a fact that he has sold his house and with his family will be moving to Germany. So this is his last concert in Australia for some time. He is an incredible talent. Do not miss his farewell performance. He is just well ....... Brilliant. We had to have him back to say goodbye.
Paul Fogarty began writing poetry, songs and prose at age 15 and has written thousands of pieces since. “I had to take jobs to live but a lot of the time I played gigs on the side and when I did everything went along just fine.” He worked as a taxi driver, postal worker, cleaner, clerk, labourer, farm hand, cartoonist, journalist and editor but even as his working conditions improved they always remained unsatisfying.
“I always felt like a fraud when I was doing somebody else’s work. I couldn’t get into it. I only felt OK when I was doing my own work, my own writing, playing my own songs.”
He has written many hundreds of songs, five novel manuscripts, a thousand poems, and thousands of journalism and observational pieces over the past thirty years. His three independent albums have all gained national radio exposure in Australia and helped him establish a growing reputation as a roots crossover artist with something worth saying. “My stuff all stems from my experiences as a very young child and from the wisdoms I have sort out since then to back it up. The world isn’t what it seems. That’s what I was trying to tell all my relatives. It’s nothing new. It’s all about waking up.”
We’d like to add that Paul’s songs are soaked in poignant heartfelt lyrics and he sings with a voice made from treacle. It is simply a joy to listen to this fine musician.

Fred Graham & Steve Cook – Tulca mór

Fred Graham and Steve Cook have been performing music together since 1991. They are the founding members of Brisbane traditional Irish group Tulca mor and have also collaborated in bands like Jack the Lad, swing jazz group Mystery Pacific and acoustic jazz quartet Mystrel.
Over the years they have dabbled in many different forms of music, new and old, these days focussing on traditional Irish instrumental music and occasionally some Manouche gypsy swing.
Fred plays violin with an adventurous and enthusiastic spirit. Steve pins the music down with a solid rhythmic foundation on bouzouki, mandolin and Irish tenor banjo. Steve's also been known to indulge in a bit of singing sometimes.
With Tulca mor they have recently released an album of tunes and songs to critical acclaim.

Brett Orr – Singer/Songwriter

Brett is multi talented singer songwriter from Melbourne who thankfully calls the Sunshine Coast his home. He plays drums and keys and has the voice reminiscent of the old soul masters.
Brett Orr’s songs speak to you like new friends that you’re sure you’ve known your whole life but you haven’t. You’ve only just met.
Brett is currently putting the finishing touches to his album – “Foundations”. He’s fresh. He’s unique. This musician is delicious.

The Express

Ross Hunter and Owen van-Larkins are The Express.
These two incredibly talented and gifted young musicians met in 2002 while studying music at Southbank TAFE in Brisbane and soon afterwards began writing and performing their own unique brand of Celtic, Folk and Spanish flavoured acoustic guitar music.
From their early compositions it was clear an extraordinary new talent had arrived on the Australian music scene. The Express, named after the train on which they wrote their early pieces, spent 3 years writing and recording demos and several of the tracks featured on these early CDs would be later developed to feature on their first album.
Recorded in 2007 at Pix Records in Conondale, their self titled album was launched to a very appreciative audience in Montville on December 14th 2007 and shortly afterwards The Express captivated audiences in their three performances at their first Woodford Folk Festival.
We here at the “Concert at Home” Series feel that you will be witness to something very special from these two young musicians. They have incredible sensitivity, virtuosity and inventiveness. This is musicianship of the highest calibre.

Alan Kelly – Singer/Songwriter (Co MC)

Alan Kelly is a Dublin born songwriter known for his exploits with the Barleyshakes. Alan it seems was born on the stage and if the intensity of his live performances are anything to go by, he will die there.
Alan is also one of the co-ordinators of this Concert @ Home Series and a tireless campaigner for original music and performance on The Sunshine Coast. His ‘Get Up & Go’ events have been running for 4 years and he is greatly appreciated amongst our community.
Alan we’re glad to say, is not going anywhere, which is bloody good for us. Alan will be there on the night and might get up to accompany one or two of the acts, time permitting

Harii Bandhu – Singer/Songwriter (Co MC)

Harii Bandhu, the travelling troubadour, finally feels like somewhere is home. So much so, he’s co-ordinating a concert series with an Irishman in his own house. And he’s dragged his dear friends Hemi & Lynda Kingi into the thick of things as part of the bargain. Harii’s been singing and writing songs for an age and along with Alan Kelly believes that this sort of event is “About Bloody Time!”
Harii might get up and accompany one or two of the acts, time permitting.
