For years now dj Spinz has been one of Toronto's top drum and bass selectors. This Juno and MMVA nominated entertainer is known for his intensity and versatility behind the decks. His mixing skills are undisputed and his lightning fast scratching add to a crowd hyping style which must be experienced! Spinz sets himself apart from the pack with his programming skills, weaving a set through peaks and valleys until the dancefloor has no choice but to explode. Get ready...dj SPINZ takes no prisoners.
During the earlier part of his career, dj Spinz experienced much success with hip-hop band BTK. The release of their debut album, "Birth Thru Knowledge" brought about two highly successful tours of Canada and spawned two award winning videos as well as the aforementioned Juno nomination. Destroying stage after stage opening for bands like Kid Rock and the Beastie Boys its no wonder they were eventually signed by Tommy Boy subsidiary, Ignition Records. Music by dj Spinz and BTK has even made its way into major motion movies such as Idle Hands, Never Been Kissed, Dog Park, All the Rage, and The Skulls!
But make no mistake, dj Spinz' heart has always belonged in the jungle. The fact is, he grew up behind a set of decks, with over a decade of terrorizing turntables under his belt. He has played supporting sets for everyone from Fabio to Dillinja to Andy C, each time further cementing his place at the forefront of the Canadian d'n'b circuit. This is evident as he has been a regular spinning for some of North America's most legendary promotion companies such as Syrous, Destiny and Hullabaloo, not to mention having headlined parties in California, New York, Pittsburgh, Michigan and in almost every major Canadian city.
His success and reputation within Toronto's jungle scene had in recent years led him to be recruited at world famous Eastern Bloc Records, where he was in charge of everything drum and bass as well as their events manager. Many of the city's top up and coming talents directly attribute Spinz with helping them on their path to finding their sound. As a promoter for E-Bloc, he was responsible for some of Toronto's more memorable intimate club nights featuring the world's top d'n'b acts while still nurturing homegrown talent. One of Buffalo's best kept secrets. Todd Heatley, as Owner/Operator of Collective Consciousness, keeps his ear close to the ground when it comes to our local scene. Gaining the respect of countless DJ's from around the area since 2004, but has been a DJ since the turn of the millenium.
The Collective Roster has flourished since the beginning of 2006, and into 2008 the crew is doing shows out of state on the regular. Being the most dedicated, and always supporting the locals, he is one of the areas favorites behind the decks! Coming with a unique blend of heavy sounds & scratching, and reaching back into his collection to bring you the straight bangers!
Tonight, expect to see confidence & control, mixed with chaos & creativity. His ability to cut & scratch has grown to impress every crowd he has the chance to entertain. From rolling out the headbanging Drum & Bass, to blending in some trip hop, there's never a change you would expect. Making abrupt & unannounced appearances has kept his sound truly underground, and this time he's booked over a month in advance. This isn't something that happens very often, take advantage.

Hailing from the Southtowns of Buffalo and represents the StS or Southtown Studios. A DJ that has made his mark through first playing on the radio show Underfiya Sessions on 91.3 FM WBNY (hosted by Perceptor, G Roc & Basha). Has been practicing his technique for over 4 years, and has made his move to the dj booth. Since 2005 Potent J has already made a very noticable impression, playing on 91.3 since late 2005 and bringing his sound to the club in early 2006.
Focusing on the dubbed out basslines and rolling sounds of Drum & Bass, he manages to mold his set into an aural experience sure to capture any Junglist's ear. Some of his favorite producers are Calibre, Mutt, Commix & Zero Tolerance... but, when he brings it to the floor, anything goes! Collecting vinyl with every chance possible, he keeps the bag fresh and enjoyable. If you can grasp what this army is about, then understand, Potent J is right at the frontline.
Tonight will be his first appearance for Konkrete Jungle Buffalo... and he plans on punishing the complex. Expect intricate, prolonged mixes, that makes each track mesh with ease into the next. In Fall '07, he was contracted to host his own show on CFXRnetradio.com, and just recently celebrated being added to the Modulated Ent. NY Roster. Local turntable wizard, Big Basha, falls nothing short of impressing the crowd with his impervious selection, quality control on the mixer & continuous mixing ability! Mashing up style upon styles, his set eliminates any boredom. Known mostly for spinning DNB, but has picked up some genres between 125 & 145 bpm. Dubstep/Breakstep, being his most favorite, ultimately brings his set to absolute RUDENESS!!
Now, Jah Creation MC may not be a name that you're most familiar with at the present, but he is the MC most familiar & in tune with Basha's sound. Jah, who just moved back to Buffalo, has brought unity back to the StS or Southtowns Studios & an extra voice to "Tuned Up", the internet radio show run by Basha on CFXRnetradio. Stepping up as of late to show his full capabilities throughout the night, as a host & party mover.
