Ivy is a such beautiful soul with so much passion for life and her friends and family. I am so proud to call her my friend. It is an honor for everyone involved in this night to be able to helpa lil in the healing for Ivy and her family. It's going to be such an amazing night! ~ I love you girl ! ~

Renee Israel was as close to an angel as you could find here on earth. Not only was she my mother, but she gave her heart and soul to everyone that had the privelege of even spending a few minutes with her. Four years ago she was informed that the Breast cancer that she had 15 years prior had resurfaced in her lungs and was giving two years to live.
In true Renee fashion, she did not let the news or her future pain and discomfort stop her from always having a positive outlook and living everyday to its fullest. No matter how she hurt, she always smiled. She was a great friend, mother and philanthopist.
On January 23, 2006, she passed on. As I stood to give my speech at the funeral ceremony, I looked out at over 1,000 pairs of eyes staring back at me. I was overwhelmed at the amount of lives that she had touched while she was with us.
Her doctor, Dr. Steven Rosen, is the head oncologist at Northwestern University Hospital. He is not only a brilliant man and researcher, but has the bedside manner of a saint. When my mother no longer could leave our home, he made house calls. His wisdom and encouragement gave my mother the strength to fight and live beyond anyones expectations.
We set up the Foundation in her memory to help raise money for the Robert E. Lurie Cancer Research Center at Northwestern Hospital which is headed by Dr. Rosen. The money not only goes to cancer research, but it helps provide the proper treatment to cancer patients that have inadequate or no insurance to pay for the costly treatments.
In keeping with my mother's philanthropic legacy, I wanted to hold an event to raise money for the Foundation, but instead of those fancy black tie events, I wanted to do things my way. Therefore, I am holding a concert!
On Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the Metro, please join me for a concert which includes those people whose friendship and music helped me through the tough times:
WEDNESDAY 13, SKANK, FIGURE H8 and Brand New Sin. There will also be a surprise guest or two.
Tickets will be $12.00 for General Admission and $50.00 for VIP. (or technically $14.00 and $55.00with all the charges )
You have to be 21 to purchase a VIP ticket the price includes a ticket to the show, exclusive access to the second floor VIP balcony, one free raffle ticket, drink specials including free drinks, and admission to the after-party. There are only 250 VIP tickets available.
Auction tickets will be sold for $5 dollars. You do not need to attend the event to win. If you are an out of state winner, you will have to pay for shipping costs. Contact me on myspace if you would like to buy a raffle ticket. Here are some of the items that will be auctioned off:
